Checkup and Cleaning

Routine checkups and cleanings every 4 to 6 months help keep your child’s teeth and gums healthy. During these visits, we examine your child’s mouth, take X-rays if needed, and clean and polish their teeth. We also apply fluoride to help prevent cavities and provide guidance on brushing and flossing techniques at home.

Dental Fillings

If a cavity develops, we typically use a white composite filling to restore front teeth. For larger cavities in back teeth or molars, stainless steel crowns may be recommended to preserve the tooth’s structure. We encourage brushing after every snack and meal to help prevent the need for fillings.

Dental Sealants

Sealants are protective coatings placed on the chewing surfaces of back teeth to prevent decay. This non-invasive treatment is typically recommended for children age 6 and older. Sealants help keep food and bacteria out of deep grooves and pits that are difficult to clean.

Dental Emergency

Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth to emerge properly. If a baby tooth is lost early due to decay or trauma, a space maintainer may be needed. This appliance helps preserve alignment and prevent overcrowding as adult teeth develop.

Children involved in sports should wear custom mouth guards to protect their teeth and gums from injury. Our custom-fit guards are comfortable, effective, and available in a variety of colors to suit your child’s preferences.
